in October '05 CPA board exam
Big things sometimes come in small packages. Or so it seems for the petite 22-year old Merlen C. dela Cruz of Magsaysay, Bagamanoc, Catanduanes and a graduate of the Catanduanes State Colleges (CSC) College of Business and Accountancy last March 2005.

Merlen placed 19th in Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Board Examination conducted on October 8-9 and 15-16, 2005, making a significant mark in the academic achievement of her college. The distinction she made in the board examination that is well documented for its grueling mental tests is definitely something to crow about. But Merlen, self-effacing that she is, would rather draw back from generous compliments she has been getting for her feat. She sneaked upon invitation at the CSC in the afternoon of October 18 to meet well wishers headed by Dr. Asuncion V. Asetre, CSC President, Dr. Aida A. Dianela, Director of Student Affairs, Mr. Jerry Ang, Dean of the College of Business and Accountancy and faculty members.
