Cultural show generates seed fund for
CSC's sports development program

The cultural show mounted by the Catanduanes State Colleges (CSC), through the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) headed by Dr. Aida A. Dianela, and the CSC Supreme Student Council, successfully generated seed fund that is expected to support the school’s sports development program.

FOR THE STUDENTS...

The cultural extravaganza aptly named “Handog” featured on the frontline the CSC’s cultural outreach arm, the Hablon Dawani, together with CSC Laboratory High School and CSC Elementary Laboratory School.

This coming November 11, another featured presentation, a dance for a cause, will be staged by the CSC students while a Dance Sports Competition among the competing units in the CSC tertiary level will be held on November 16. The winner of this contest will represent the CSC in the Region V State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association Meet (SCUAA) to be held on November 27-December 1, 2005 at CSSAC, Pili, Camarines Sur.

...BY THE STUDENTS.

On the other hand, a year-end spectacle will take the center stage on December 14, 2005 as parents, faculty and staff of the CSC combine their talents for a variety show dubbed as “Christmas Frolics”.

Handog, which was initially showcased on October 3, 2005 proved to be an enthralling evening of music and dance of various genres as the CSC showcased some of its finest homegrown talents.

Dr. Asuncion V. Asetre, CSC President, in her short message before the show proper, hailed the prime movers and supporters of the activity. “More than the individual artistic expression and beyond the showcase of talents, what makes this cultural show an even more profound undertaking is its noble purpose. Truly, the spirit of magnanimity and cooperation is evident in tonight’s affair”, the CSC President said.

The CSC administration through the OSA has lined up these projects to help subsidize student welfare activities.
Other undertaking in the pipeline is the tapping of the institution’s successful roster of alumni to share their resources for the benefit of the CSC studentry.(GSR)
